Which acne treatment works best for pimples and oily skin?

Get a rag and put it in the hottest water your face can possibly stand. Wash your face with a mild soap, and then put the rag on there and steam your face with it. Do this several times and let it sit on your face. This will open your pores. Rinse face and repeat.

Also, pro active works well. There are off brand versions of it that are the exact same thing and work well too.

Stay away from anything that is alcoholic. It dries out your skin and causes it to produce even more oil.Which acne treatment works best for pimples and oily skin?
It's going to be hard to say. Alot of people have had success with Proactiv. I have not. I have oily skin and the only thing i can do to keep my face from breaking out is put a good layer of clearasil vanishing cream all over when i go to bed. First I wash it using Philosophy brand face cleanser called ';On A Clear Day'; then i put on the Clearasil. It has 10% benzoil peroxide. It dries it out pretty good so when I wake up I wash my face and usePhilosophy brand lotion to replenish the heck out of it. I've had acne my whole life. So far these steps have kept it in check.

You'll have to try different things. It took me a long time to find just the right thing. Not everything works for everybody.

Trial and error my friend. Good luck.Which acne treatment works best for pimples and oily skin?
Do not put hot water on your face or go out in the sun without a hat. Sun rays are damaging and irritating. Hot water and sun will make you get large red spider veins that are permanent without laser or other therapies. Hot water will also make your skin react by putting out more oil. Wash your face with a mild cleanser the milder the better I use diluted shampoo. That way your skin won't over compensate and put out more oil to replace what you stripped off. Clearasil daily face wash is medium in mildness and can be used for very oily skin, but dilute it. Afterwards use an astingent. I make my own by diuting Witch Hazel with about a third water and a few drops of tea tree oil. Add a few drops of a mild low fragrenced cream rinse as a emolient to help keep the tea tree oil mixed up. After this use a benzoyl peroxide cream like oxy 10. Most stores have a generic check the ingredients and get 10 percent benzoyl peroxide. Apply the oxy 10 to zits and areas of problem up to 3 times a day if there is one swelling up. Don't forget a mild oil free moisturizer so you skin doesn't need to try and replace with its own oils. And then apply an oil free sunscreen.

Don't pick your face or squeeze. If there is a white head use a needle that has beeen cleaned with alcohol and prick the side of the white head and then use the side of the pin or an black head extractor to get the pus out. Then disinfect the area with pure witch hazel and apply more oxy 10. To remove black heads only use a comedone blackhead extractor after you have taken a shower or bath so pores are open. Squeezing causes spreading and picking causes longer healing times and scaring that is permanent. Dr.'s can prescribe antibiotic lotions that may help a little but if you have bad acne you should get on accutane it can cure it.

Good Luck and don't pick or you will be sorry

Also you can place an order for herbal treatment.
I use Arbonne. It's an acne system kinda like proactiv but it also has vitamin pills to go along with it. It works great for me. But not every acne medicine works for every person. You just have to find what works for you. Here's the site to check out if you want.

I tried ';proactive'; and it worked for me. But I have heard from others that it didn't work. You may have to try a few different things to find the one that works for you. (all our skin is different) You could try to go to a dermatologist, that's what they are experts on. I'm sure they have many different products to help you clear up your skin! Good Luck!
I discovered acne.org last year...the website describes a regimen and the steps it takes to achieve clear skin. I had HOOOOORRRRIIBBLE acne last year. I followed the suggestions on acne.org, and my skin is really clear now. Works better than anything I've tried, and I've spent thousands on skin products. It's worth checking it out, trust me. No, I am not a sales person ;P
proactiv worked for me
Stop drinking milk. There is hormones in the milk that causes pimples. You need calcum though, so take suppliments. I used to get a few here and there every week and then i stopped drinking milk. But I catch myself having a glass every so often and i'll get a pimple the very next day. So that has worked best for me. Also you need to put lotion on your face after you get out of the shower to protect your pores and keep your face clean.
Proactiv hands down. For real.
The chemicals in the SOAP you are using is probably making your condition WORSE…. (read on)

First STOP using commercial skin care! GO ORGANIC or ALL NATURAL. I had rosacea (red blemishes on the cheeks) until I started using TEA TREE OIL organic soap from: www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com ($2.50 a bar). It cleared it up in like a week.... and this was something I battled with for YEARS!!!! You can tell the difference right away (like the first time). It doesn’t even feel like soap. I can’t explain it, it just FEELS good. It works on SO MANY things because it is a NATURAL antifungal, antiseptic : acne, rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, poison ivy, oak and sumac, dandruff, fungal conditions, etc. Just Google TEA TREE OIL to find out its MANY benefits, then get the bar or liquid and start using it. They are very helpful with skin problem questions, they will even design a bar for your skin type based on your skin conditions - now that’s not something you find everyday.... They only charged me like $5 bucks a bar for the custom.

You want/need HANDMADE or hand-milled soap made the old fashion way. If not them, then “someone” else who sells handmade organic. Their soaps has GLYCERIN in them (a natural moisture retainer). In STORE bought soap glycerin is sold for profit and replaced with a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate to add lather which is listed in the encyclopedia as a skin IRRITANT. I know, I couldn’t believe it either, but look it up! This chemical is found in 98% of ALL STORE bought soaps. SCARY, HU? READ THE BACK! (Even the ones claiming to be natural or clean). BUT (and I’m not trying to sell you on them) the soaps at SANDY CREEK SOAP COMPANY are organic, natural AND eco friendly. S%26amp;H is only like a dollar fifty, and I got my order in a few days. If you are on short notice ask for faster shipping. And best of all they are CHEAP! Most eco friendly products are so expensive you can’t AFFORD to save the world. Hope this helped....
As a Community Health Care Specialist, I have had to experiment with different products %26amp; things according to each clients budget- %26amp; beleive me, there have been some doozies. One of the very best things that we have found for acne though, %26amp; even as the best skin toner available, even if you don't have problem skin, is Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. The higher the percentage, the better. You can buy 70% off the shelf in pharmacies, but some pharmacies will carry the ';stronger'; stuff behind the counter %26amp; you just need to ask for it. Use it twice a day with cotton balls %26amp; you will be amazed how quickly your skin will clear up. I also challenge anyone to try an experiment- wash your face w/soap %26amp; water, than again w/the Isopropyl - yuk, your soap actually leaves that gunk your going to find on your face. And NO, I don't work for the company- I'm just really impressed with what the product can do that it's not even intended for. I just kind of stumbled across the fact that it is THE best pimple eraser ever found, great for removing what's left after you was your face, %26amp; a great toner too! Good Luck:)
Apply slices of tomato on your skin, the pulp of the tomato has astringent properties which can prevent acne. I came across a lot of simple and natural remedies for treating and preventing acne at http://acxe.info
proactiv doesn NOT work...thats all i have to say
Proactive works like a charm. If your skin is sensitive use that Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser. If that doesnt work, have your doctor prescribe Retin-A. I had chronic acne for years. Proactive worked at first, but then, life and stress caused my skin to become resistant to it. I went to a dermatologist who put me on Cetaphil, Retin-A, and a topical antibiotic. Now i just use the Ceetaphil. Try the P-Active first. Good luck!
I use green tea facial soap and Chickweed Cream. I would stay away from harsh chemical ingredients...
