Tell me your true story during acne treatment?

When you used acne medicine, cream or lotion or antibiotic, Were the acnes getting worse and worse before your skin became smooth? How long does it take, 4weeks or 8 weeks? What acne medicine did you use? What did you feel when you were on that phase, did you ever think giving up coz it wont work on you? What caused you keep using it and trust the product is gonna work?Tell me your true story during acne treatment?
I had to deal with mild/moderate acne all last year. It was hell!!

I used different products from Proactiv, Clinique, OnlyYourx, and a range of different drugstore brands. None of those helped, to say the least and counting how much I spent on all these (including other stuff!) ayeyayi!!

When I would try a new product or new system of products, I usually would only use it for one to two weeks and if there would be no improvement, I would search for something else to use.

I know 'they' say that generally, you should use a product for three+ weeks before deciding if it works for you or not ... and with that, there would be the ';purging';, which is 'acne getting worse before it gets better' but I didn't take that route. I was a little too scared of my face exploding more and not even being sure if it would get better (cause it all depends right? everybody's skin reacts differently).

I would definitely quit with a product if after a few days, I would see my skin getting worse. = I actually tried twice to continue with these two different systems, despite my acne getting so bad both times... and yeah, I used up both and nothing! I just had more spots, redness, flaking, cracking. That's when I decided not to wait so long for a product to work.

In my experience (maybe its just me), when I use a new product, whatever it may be, I'll usually see a difference after two days. If I see a positive difference (even just minor), then I know it suits my skin; if I see no difference after a couple of days, I gradually stop using and toss em.Tell me your true story during acne treatment?
Actually, after i typed down the comment above. The next morning i woke up, the big bumps came out again! That craps made my face worse and worse. Then i discontinue, i use the product from my dermatologist again. The acnes are gone. My face is smooth, free acne again! Report Abuse

The product that doesnt work on me is Arbonne. I hate that craps. If you try any product, you dont see improvement, your skin get worse within a week. DISCONTINUE! unless you want the acnes get worse than ever. I learn from this. My dermatologist product work within 5 days. Isnt it cool!!? Report Abuse

It shouldnt be getting worse before it gets better. If it gets worse, its because your skin is irritated from the product.

Try ProActiv. It works like a charm and only took about 10 days to see significant results.

Sunlight is also good for your skin [notice how people with tans dont have bad skin].

Personally, I went to a determatologist for 2 years and never saw any results. I hated going out because I thought ';If a determatologist cant cure me, then what kind of freak am I?'; It seriously took away what should have been the best years of my life. Then, one morning, I saw the Proactiv ad on TV and gave it a shot...sure enough it worked.

I also noticed that I would break out really bad under certain conditions and kept a closer watch on what things were touching my skin.

I made sure to change and wash my bedsheets and pillowcases every 3-4 days. Switched to Dove products [soap, shampoo and face wash] and switched to Oil of Olay instead of cheap lotion or moisturizer.

I also gave up soda, chocolate and chips.

Try that and see if it works
i have none
I have/had acne, but its not big bumps just a whiteheads on my forehead and chin.. It's clearing up now that I'm older. I used to get this big bump on my lip around period time and it used to be a pain! I'd put Neutrogena on the Spot stuff on it at night and it would burn and then not really help the bump (just dry the skin out so that the areas around it would peel. Then i heard that salt would help draw out the bacteria, so I would but some on a hot, wet washcloth and use it as a compress. This would cause the pus to come to the top, making it ten times bigger and nasty looking. I would walk around looking self conscious for a while until i went against my instincts and popped it. This would leave a scar 10x worse than the original bump.
I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
Hi..I suffered with really bad acne since i was in 6th grade...I tried creams from the dermatologists which made my face get horrible rashes and they looked disgusting. I also tried proactive wich did not help either. Finally in 10th grade i was put on Accutane. THANK GOODNESS!! Other than peeling and having to take blood tests to make sure i was not pregnant, Accutane changed my life. It got rid of all my acne, and cleared it up.
