I am 21 years old and have had acne since I was 11 years old. I am getting married Dec.21, 2008 and I really need something to cure my acne. Any suggestions?Is proactive permanent or even semi-permanent? if not, is there any acne treatment that is?
If you got severe acne(like i do) in the back shoulders and chest(on the face too but its easier to heal the face than the body) the only solution that works(doing it atm 2 months in halfway done) is Accutane its a permanent solution. Its very harsh tho it dries alot but its not that bad IMO. Also you need to take at least 2 blood tests. 1 at the begining and 1 after the 1st month. But i know some take them after every months so. :P i hated blood tests but hey its acne free you want :) so i told myself lets do it..and it's not that bad. Ask your dermatologist about accutane. He's the one that can get you started. it's like 80$ every months for 4 months. but where i live they refund it partly. Right now i think it's the only permanent solution that WORKS and that's not TELEVION SPAM TO MAKE MONEY stuff like proactiv and such.that doesnt even work. Accutane is made to help people, not to make money. Be careful tho. Youll get more breakouts if you use it at the begining cause it's PURGING the sebum outta your skin so the skin stays clear and beautiful. Just exercise eat right and you shouldnt get that many. bare essentials makeup covers up really well! proactive DOES NOT work! it's works the same as any other generic acne wash you can get from walgreens. i spent the money, and it did nothing for me. i would suggest going to a dermatologist and getting some antibiotics and see if that clears it up! congrats on getting married! good luck!
Proactive works, but you can't stop..Or you'll get acne again..

I am on Proactive and love it! However, if you even miss a day you can tell and you start to get breakouts.
