Does Proactive Acne treatment really work?

Ok so we have all seen the comercials with stars like Jessica Simpson and Vanessa Williams. My son has acne (he is 13)And deep imbedded blackheads. He is self concious and It breaks my heart to see him having to be self concious.Does Proactive Acne treatment really work?
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Yes proactiv is pretty good. The only thing is that once you stop using it acne comes back pretty quickly. I've been using cleapores which is just a effective and it take quite long before acne starts to reappear.

It really depends on the person - I have a friend who it did not work for at all, and another who loved it. If it's a big issue for him then it could be worth a shot, otherwise you could get him an appointment with a dermatologist. Since he's 13 and a boy he might be embarrassed by that, but it's nothing compared to having to feel self-consious about his acne and it could really help! Good luck!!
try it,

';What do you have to loose';

I use it but it doesnt really do much... It depends on your skin

Try Aveeno, works pretty well and smells great!

good luck
OK, I'm going to try and shorten MY personal story for you. I have VERY bad acne. I've had it for about 3-4 years, so since I was 12-13. I went to my regular doctor, and I ended up using 3 different types of pills (not at the same time of course, but over a period of probably 5 months) and they didn't work. So, he reffered me to a dermatologist and I am not on my 3rd pill, and nothing has helped me. I tried proactive, and it did not work for me. I am SO self conscious also, and its so bad sometimes I cry. I just met an estatician though and she reccomended me a daily regement that I am going to follow. Maybe your son can do this also. You need to get an exfoliater (good brands: Dermologica %26amp; Murad - Murad is found at Sephora) to use once a day, a cleanser (I use clean %26amp; clear, have him wash in the morning, twice in a row at night). The first wash at night is getting rid of everything taht got on the face that day such as oil, dirt, etc., second is actually getting deep down into the skin. And a moisturizer after he washes/and or exfoliates. I am also getting ';Teen'; or ';Acne'; facials. These are VERY good for the skin. Sorry to be so long, but hopefully this works!!
I heard that it works but as soon as you stop

using it your face breaks out again.
yes
Hi, try Acuzine, its an oral taken medication(made up for herbs like aloe vera..etc), i'm currently taking it and is into my second month. It works by cleaning inside out, when i started the medication, i experience a bit of a diarrhea but after about 2 weeks, it stopped, i guessed i must have been pretty intoxicated by then. Just remember to take lots of water with the medication (and i reccomend that no food to be taken before and after 2 hours, 1 capsule per day). Anyway, the effects started to show after 1 month, so be patient!! Now i don't get acne so often, it was like 2 or 3 every week, but so far, i haven got any(after 1 month medication), the preferred term would be at least 3 months, but the recommended usage will be 6 months(where you will be taking 6 bottles of acuzine...1 bottle per month), and it also helps to lighten the acne scar abit..as i've notice.

Last but not least, it is said that you do not have to carry on with the medication after 6 months as it is something of more like a permanent alternative but as i'm only into my 2nd month, it will be 4 more months before i'll know...good luck!!
personally, i think it depends on the type of skin you have. for example,my girlfriend used it for a few months and said it did nothing for her, but she never had bad acne. a friend of mine uses it and says it works good. i had a blackhead problem, but i now use this stuff by Arbonne called clear advantage. it works good. its supposed to be all natural ingredients.
