Whats a better acne treatment. Acne free or Clean and Clear spot treatment?

I have acne free right now but it's not really working all that well.Whats a better acne treatment. Acne free or Clean and Clear spot treatment?
I just recently bought Acne free, my face was bumpy and red and it pretty much got rid of all the bumps on my nose but its still red..

I havent tried the clean and clear but have you over tried OXY?

They have cleaning pads, chilled, and normal, and even though you wont notice a big difference right away, it really does clean your face. Is it just your T-zone or do you have acne?

If its just your t zone then most of it is just oils and dirt. The pads will work, and you will notice a slight chage after awhile.

I hope that helps a little.

I still havent found an exact cure either.Whats a better acne treatment. Acne free or Clean and Clear spot treatment?
The best acne treatment is the one that goes from inside of ur body. No sweet , no fast food. Nutrition helps a lot, vit E

I was taking up to 1000 eu daily, vit D, vit A. omega 3 and omega 6. Advice a chiropractor-nutritionist who can put u on a right plan.
Well, those are just branding stuff. Panoxyl 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel works well as well as topical niacinamide.

you should check out http://www.acnetreatmentlab.com for more info
Use a face wash! It hydrates your face and cleans it at the same time. I suggest using Oil-free acne wash. It might sting a little at first, but when you're done, it will leave your face really smooth! It reduced a bunch of acne for me when I had a breakout. Hope this helps!
PIMPLES

Pimples is a unique skin disorder.Pimples are lesions that occur when the skin鈥檚 pores are obstructed or infected. They can form for a variety of reasons. However, the mechanism involved in causing some pores to collapse and block drainage of natural oils is not really understood. Pimples may also crop up for genetic reasons. It is not clear how it can be inherited from one鈥檚 parents, but studies do indicate a high occurrence of pimples in children whose parents had it,too.

The pimples associated with adolescence almost certainly occur because of hormonal changes that take place during puberty. Both males and females get an overdose of the male hormone testosterone during this period, causing excessive generation of sebaceous fluids that invariably cause pimples.

GIVEN BELOW ARE A FEW SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES TO FIGHT PIMPLES.

1.The most basic form of pimple prevention is hygiene and preventive skin care. Regular washing of the affected areas with mild soap is a must. The soap need not necessarily contain any chemicals designed to prevent pimples .However, face washing should not be overdone or the skin will become dehydrated .

2.Care should be taken on makeup, moisturizers and other skin care products. If these products are oil based,it would just make the problem worse. Use water based products instead.

3.Generally we rub, press or squeeze our pimples.Don鈥檛 when we do this,we risk spreading the bacteria to other areas.

4.Lemon juice diluted in water can be applied externally because of its antiseptic

quality.

5.Tea Tree oil can also be applied directly to infected pores.

6.Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.

7.Before bathing, apply a mixture of fresh tomato pulp, honey and rose-water to your face and keep for twenty minutes before washing off.

8.Juice of raw papaya is the best treatment for pimples.Apply fresh juice of raw papaya on pimples and get a good result.

9.Directly rub potato slices all over the face, helps to get rid of blemishes and

pimple scar.

10.Drink plenty of water and vegetable or fruit juices.

11.Use cucumber or other fruit and vegetable packs to cure pimple scars.

12.Maintain a diet that is rich in cottage cheese, salads, fresh juices, fish and

yogurt. These help to cleanse your system and ward off pimples.

13.Another overnight home remedy for pimples is to put a dab of toothpaste on it to help dry it out. Calamine lotion also will have the same drying effect.

14.Pound orange peel with water and apply to affected areas.

15.Another useful remedy for pimples is zinc. Which can be taken in a dose of 50 mg daily for a month and then reduce the dose.

16.You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as an overnight home pimple remedy.

17.Aspirin contains Beta hydroxy acid which is a powerful defoliant ,so you can crush 1to 2 Aspirin tablets mix with a little water and apply on pimples for 15 minutes and wash.

Finally, certain medications may temporarily alter the hormonal changes prevalent during adolescence and cause pimple outbreaks. If this is the case, a simple adjustment in medication may be all that is required.
You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as a simple home remedy. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control pills for the treatment of acne?

If so, are they the ones who give you the pelvic exam/pap smear? Aren't those 2 exams required before you get bc?Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control pills for the treatment of acne?
There are no exams required before you get birth control. I was prescribed them by a pediatrician for unbearable cramps. I didn't have to get any exams done. Even if you did, those exams would be done by a gynecologist; dermatologists are skin doctors and are not trained to perform such procedures. Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control pills for the treatment of acne?
Birth control pills can cause acne. Not prevent them.

These pills alter the hormones in your body. But...

.....they also over-stimulate the sebaceous glands in your skin.

These gland produce sebum or oil. And too much sebum increases your chances of breaking out.

Hey check out the following website for more information about hormones, acne and birth control pills:

http://www.facialskincarefacts.org/Hormo鈥?/a>
they can prescribe your morphine if they want to...but you might want to visit the old gyno to get it, they can better explain advantages and risks associated with the pill you try...

Has anyone used proactiv 3step or any other acne treatment that actually worked? what was it plz?

i have bad break up and im trying to find something that is actually going to work . if u have any tips you're welcome to tell me :)Has anyone used proactiv 3step or any other acne treatment that actually worked? what was it plz?
I've been using Proactiv for about 4 years now. I've seen great results with it!Has anyone used proactiv 3step or any other acne treatment that actually worked? what was it plz?
Do not use the proactive solutions it doesn't work, and it is made mostly with bleach. Beauti control has acne products that work. Also if your acne is severe try going to the dermatologist they have meds they can give you and most insurance plans will cover it. My step son used the proactive and it didn't help any, then we took him to the Dr. and they gave him Acutaine and that worked well, but he had severe acne. If yours isn't that bad look into the beauti control stuff, it is a little expensive but good products. I use it and love it. Hope that helps!!!!!
My daughter used ProActive until it started rashing her face something awful.

Now she used the Bare Escentuals system and loves it. And it has helped immensely.

Hope this helps!

  • I am a 44 year old female and I still have break of acne. What treatment options do I have?

I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago.I am a 44 year old female and I still have break of acne. What treatment options do I have?
At our skin care spa, we see more women in their 30s-40s with acne then we see teenagers. Its amazing how these days more women get acne then their kids do!!! I believe all the polution and additives in our foods is the cause of these problems. No need to worry though, many treatments invasive or not can help treat and slow down acne. Microdermabrasion helps slough off the dead skin and extract all the goo from the pores, chemical peels also do that, but there is down time for the healing process. Also topical or oral medications would be the last resort I say if nothing else works. Try seeing an aesthetician or dermatologist in your area to see what works best for your skin type. Also a good skin care regimen at home with high quality products should keep breakouts at bay! Good luck and hope your skin clears up soon.......I am a 44 year old female and I still have break of acne. What treatment options do I have?
having children will help with your hormone balance sometimes.
At 44, this is likely not acne, but Rosacea. If you see your doctor, there are treatments for it, including Metronidazole gel among other things.

Can I use a spot treatment for acne after using a sunless tanner?

Or will it make a weird spot afterwards? Also, soes it matter if you use the Jergens face sunless tanner on your face or not? As of right now, I'm just using the regular Jergens on my face. Can I use a spot treatment for acne after using a sunless tanner?
personally, i think the face tanners are the same thing as the body products, just an attempt to make more money to purchase them seperately, just remember not to do as heavy, u could use a make up sponge which is what i do on my hands and face. As for the spot treatment, i would also use that but lightly at first to test it, you can always apply foundation if it makes it a little patchy.

What is the best skin treatment for acne?

I need a remedy that works! Anyone know of any products that have actually shown a remarkable difference? What is the best skin treatment for acne?
Do you want the truth?? I had very bad acne for about 3 years and nothing worked for me absolutely nothing, i started goin to a dermatologist and after a while they put me on a drug called roaccutane and now my skin is perfect!! But its very dangerous and there is very serious side effects that comes with it!What is the best skin treatment for acne?
rub lemon juice 3-4 times daily.eat as much salads and fruits and plenty water, fresh air and sleep well.no oily or fried foods, sugary or fizzy drinks.

every day 2tablespoons of apple cider vinger or white vinger with 1 teaspoon oh honey will show wonderfull results all over.GURANTEED.COME BACK AND TELL IN 10 DAYS.

rub some potato skin just as well.
Drink lots of water!! esp before bed. If you use a moisturizer, use an OIL FREE MOISTURIZER. Wash your face after you get up, wipe face with cotton ball saturated with an astringent to clean away cleanser residue, and then use an acne cream with BENZOYL PEROXIDE as the active ingredient. Then use the moisturizer to keep your skin from drying out because the other stuff will sometimes dry out the skin. Repeat at night before bed. BUT%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Drinking water is the best acne controller!! Never use ';acne'; creams near the eye area, or you'll get wrinkles there because of the dryness.
    hi

roaccutane is really the best medicine to take only if the doctor think it should be prescribed to you.

It comes in different dosage so you could try the weakest one first and increase mg if it does not work though i can remember that you need at least to take it everyday for a couple of weeks before you could see the effect.

You have to be carefull if you are taking other treatment or pills cause I know for instance that it prevents contraceptive pills to work!!!

it also dry your skin a lot and especially your lips.

Hope that helps cause it helped me big time!

    Good Luck
My nanna always told me to use brewers yeast tablets. i never believed her but i tried it anyway, after swallowing the strange smelling things for 2 weeks i started to see the difference. she explained that it cleaned out your system and your blood from the inside. then also if you can get your hands on some beach sand, mix it in with some aqueous cream and rub it into your skin twice a day, leave it for a minute then rinse the sand off. the cream gets absorbed and the sand exfoliates. the sea sand also has salt in it and that helps cause salt is a healer. it also takes a few days to make a difference but give it a chance. let mother nature give you a hand and keep the chemicals for emergencies. it really works i promise.
When I was young I used to burst the spots. Never had any problem with scars etc. wait until a head forms first so all the poison comes out.
    Sandpaper
Lavender essential oil. Rub it on on a morning. Your acne will be gone in three or four days. Stuff that just smells like lavender is useless. Tea Tree is better, but you'll smell like a fence.
I never had acne. Up untill i got sick, and was in the hospital

they put me on steroids so i could walk again, but unfortunatlly bloated me up . and gave me bad acne, When i got out of the hospital , i ordered some proactiv, it worked ok, but not perfect, so i got some Neutrogena PureGlow face pads, and they work awesome, ill get one here and there, but no bad acne:) hope that helps...and who know proativ might work better on you, it all depends try them out:)

    Good diet !
witch hazell. or roaccutane but u need the doc for that.
My brother swears by Proactive and he had really bad skin.
The best stuff you can get is on prescription from your doctor. Really does work.
pro active (over the counter stuff), my friend got it, and it helped, but she still has a little acne, but not much.

    or...

a prescription from the doctor, ask them for Differin, or Benza Clin, they both work really, really well.

I got those prescriptions, and I went from a face full of acne, to one pimple!!! that stuff works wonders (and it actually works too)
I use ';the body shop'; face cleansers, lotions, and blemish stick.. it works wonderful!
Facial turmeric powder (kasthuri manjal) 鈥?1 spoon, honey 鈥?陆 spoon, few drops of olive oil, curd 鈥?陆 spoon, table salt 鈥?录 spoon. Mix these items to make a paste and apply on your face. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
the best stuff of all is ROACCUTANE tablets. They can only be prescribed by a dermatologist (your GP can refer you) and only if your acne is severe, or hasn't responded to the usual medication of antibiotics (Tetracycline, Minicycline, Oxytetracyline, Erythromycin, etc)

See you doctor, don't bother with anything you can buy over the counter
Wash thoroughly with water only and don't wear makeup. Its a circular condition that is worsened by makeup and products. A good combination of common sense and will-power will fix it.

The skin eraser is good and the cream really works. You have to allow 3-4 weeks to see results though. In my view its the best product for that price

In general, topical solutions are not sufficient to affect moderate to deep acne scarring but if your acne scar is not severe,(mild to moderate) you can improve your skin condition with many over the counter products.

    Hello

There are many ways that can help you to treat your acne.

check these helpful methods that helped me to treat my acne:

    Drink water

Drink a lot of water every day. Try drinking at least two liters of still mineral water. If the skin becomes dehydrated, dead skin cells are not effectively shed, which can lead to blocked pores and further acne.

    Sunshine and fresh air

Sunshine stimulates the creation of vitamin D in our body - an essential vitamin for healthy skin. A little bit of fresh air and sunshine every day will also reduce stress and increase oxygen to the skin. Even when it's overcast, the sun's rays reach us, so try to take a 10 minute walk outside every day. Don't get burnt in the sun though - apart from increasing the risk of skin cancer, burnt and heavily tanned skin forms a thick layer on the skin's surface that doesn't exfoliate quickly enough and leads to blocked pores.

Reduce the intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates

New research pointing the finger at diet - eating refined carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, rice, flour etc) and sugar leads to a surge in insulin and an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1. This in turn leads to an excess of male hormones, which encourage the skin to excrete large amounts of sebum. This grease-like substance encourages the growth of bacteria responsible for acne.

Refined carbs/sugar = more insulin = more hormones = more sebum (oil) = more bacteria = more acne

    The bed sheets

Keep your bed sheets clean. Wash your pillow case on a regular schedule to reduce the transfer of our natural body oils.

    Wash your face

Wash your face just one time a day. Don't over wash , because that will cause only more production of oil on your skin. you can also use very gentle cleansers for normal skin that don't dehydrate the skin and wash twice a day.

Anyhow, don't go out and buy those magical acne systems that you can find anywhere online, they just don't work and you will spend your money for nothing.

Why not? Well, because it takes time to get rid of acne and you will need at least few weeks to see any noticeable results. There is absolutely no way to treat your acne immediately.

If you really want to treat your acne there are two recommended methods that should combined together for best results.

Firstly and most important you must learn how you should fix the internal problem that's causing your acne, not just masking the symptoms or getting relief.

There are only few decent Ebooks and acne cure programs that can teach you exactly how to treat your acne from the inside.

Where medicine has failed them the authors have done their own research and found a way to overcome acne. In their books they share their valuable knowledge with other acne sufferers. Anyhow, be very careful because many of them are pure crap with little value.

You can find honest and comprehensive review about the best programs in the market today in this helpful article:

    http://www.squidoo.com/Best-Acne-Ebooks

The second thing that you need to do is to get good acne skin product that will be suitable for your skin.

There are hundreds of acne skin care products available in the market right now and it's not easy to choose the product that will give you the best results.

When choosing your product make sure to check that you get at least 2 months full guarantee. Some of the big names in the industry are:

ClearPores, Acuzine, Acnezine, Proactiv, Vilante and some others.

You can find more information, reviews, cons and pros on the leading acne skin care products in this website:

I hope that these tips will be helpful for you
I have heard that Mederma works well. A friend at work was in a car accident and she had scars on her face. She tried it and it worked very well. Not sure about acne scars, but might be worth a try.
    ok my dear

old scar means complete fibrosis (white scar)

so we need laser cure to remove it

if the colour is red use Mederma cream

What is the best acne treatment with fast results?!?

Definitely do not use harsh chemicals like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid! They may help at first but they irritate skin. They aren't made for your skin. I would buy the Zeno acne pimple zapper. It is expensive! But it gets rid of pimples in 24 hrs. Also try berts bees herbal blemish stick. that works for me. check them out. especially the zeno site , its interesting how they get rid of a pimple in 1 day without using chemicals. What is the best acne treatment with fast results?!?
Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer. Here are a few informative links with additional home treatment ideas.

I need safe, affordable treatment for acne scars. Does it exist?

I don't have extremely deep scars on my face, but they are noticeable and widespread around my face. Depending on the lighting/shadows of a room, they can be very noticeable to not so noticeable.

I have seen a dermatologist, and dumped a couple grand into micro-dermabrasion. I noticed mild results, but could not afford to keep them up. I try to do research, but it is so confusing. Chemical peels, acid peels, lasers, surgeries, home remedies, etc.

I don't want to do anything super serious with high risk of intensified scarring, or that has long recovery times. I also don't have tons of cash to waste on unreliable methods. Can anyone offer some suggestions, either from professional or personal experience?I need safe, affordable treatment for acne scars. Does it exist?

chemical peels work really well but there not cheep. how they work is a dermatologist puts consentrated sylcic acid on your face and at firt it burns but then they will put numbing cream on. during the next week your skin will ';shead'; off your top layer of skin, taking off most scars and revealing fresher skin. but if you do do this make sure you dont have anything importaint to go to because your face will be a bit red. if you want a cheeper remidy try ';scar zone';. you can get it at any drug store. my friend uses for her acne scars and it works pretty well. they even make a tretment made just for acne scars. only thing is is that it takes at least 5 months to start working. also you should use other acne treatments like scrubs and washes to prevent futher scaring. and never ever ever pick at your acnce. when choosing a ance wash/scrub i sugest you use one that has sylcic acid or Benzoyl Peroxide. i hope i answered your question.
    Glytone. Best. Stuff. Ever.

It cleared my skin in a week, and now, 4 months later, I still have crystal clear skin! It's not cheap, but it's worth it, and it works. It has dramatically gotten rid of my scarring as well.

You can buy it online, at a dermatologist's office who carries the line, or at a cosmedical spa. I found it through yahoo local by typing in glytone.

ps- the first week will be irritating (some burning and stinging) while your skin builds a tolerance for glycolic acid, but it's worth it.

I broke out at age 10. At 24 I went through accutane, which kept me clear for three years, and then broke out again. Glytone not only cleared my skin, but it changed it. It works. It's your face and it's worth it!!
I don't think there is much you can do. You can try a Jensen peel which makes your face peel. That helped me. Also, I know people can use laser, but that is more expensive. If your scars are not too bad, try lightening creams sold at cosmetic counters or drugstores.

For a few brown spots on my face i have been using Retina A .05% and Obagi Blender. It worked great but I only used it for a few short months as I saw a vast improvement.

Many people, including dermatologists, are finding that Retin-A, which is often used to treat wrinkles, acne, and skin discolorations, is quite effective for the treatment of acne scars as well.

While using retin-a for acne scars, you should avoid exposure to the sun, or use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 15.

What is the best contraceptive pill for treatment of acne?

Hi I've tried a few different pills to help with acne (I've had it for over 10 years now) just wondering if anyone had any info... I recently came off Loette and my skin seemed to clear up (even though this pill is supposed to make acne better...)

Cheers : )What is the best contraceptive pill for treatment of acne?
I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

    1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

    2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

There is a great website: http://acnehomesolution.com that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.What is the best contraceptive pill for treatment of acne?
No the pill does not always make the skin clearer. There is no one pill that clears acne for everyone so there is no best pill you can try. If you have had acne for 10 years now you may want to see your doc about getting some prescription meds to get it under control.
    Try proactive, it works.
I don't know, but pills have side effects. Do you really want to take the risk just to clear up your skin? You should try proactiv or some other skin product, it worked for me.

If the acne is painful, you might have nodular or pustular acne. You really need to see a dermatologist to treat this. No amount of over-the-counter products will clear some types of acne. Also, waiting could increase the chances of permanent scarring.I have serious trouble with my skin - this terrible acne is really painful :-(( Any acne treatment recommends?
Have you tried different facial washes?? Have you changed your washing powder at home?

i have a skin condition, rosecea. This can be red veins in the face or bad ache or both together. I have both. I found it was aggreviated by too much sunlight. I went to the doctors and tried several creams, but now im on antibiotics to control it. my skin is finally nice and smooth.

    Hope it helps!!
Well, i use a brand name clean and clear. it is very good. First u wash ur face with the soap than apply some cream onto ur face. DO NOT WASH IT OFF!!!
Well let me start off by saying you should eventually grow out of this phase. But if your acne is that severe-you really need to see a dermatologist, they can give you special treatment that any over the counter cleanser will not compare to. They have numerous things that help all at once and work together to get rid of it. They even have a pill they can prescribe because some acne is caused from a bacteria within your body and the pill works from within and gets rid of that bacteria. My first dermatologist told me to use LAVA soap to wash my face-it is in a red wrapping and the soap itself is green adn gritty. I was told to always use oil-free face wash that has the ingrediant glycerol or something to that affect-read your ingrediants on the back before you buy it. I also use a cotton ball and alcohol as an astringent. Try not to wear foundation or cover up make up if possible, it only clogs your pores.
Only one thing worked for me: the Pill. Ask your dermatologist about it.

Using lemon juice as an acne treatment?

I put on a mask of lemon juice at night and normally wash it off the next day. It used to work but it doesn't seem to be working anymore... reason?Using lemon juice as an acne treatment?
Your skin is having a reverse reaction, your skin has gotten used to the treatment you have been giving it. Maybe try honey, put a teaspoon of it on a plate put it in the microwave for 30 seconds or a little less, and leave it on for about 30 minutes to an hour and a half then wash it off.Using lemon juice as an acne treatment?
No worries, but I shouldn't be the one taking the credit, it was my friend that told me about it Report Abuse

It doesn't work on everybody's skin becuase there are other reasons of acne and skin diseases. I have got eczema and lemon juice made it worse because the chemicals were too harsh so maybe there is a change of stage of your acne and the lemon juice effeect will wear off.

try other home remedies such as olive oil

wash your face and mix 1 tbsp of honey with 2tbsp olive oil and rub it on your face

wash after 10 minutes and it will help to make skin healthy glowing..and slowly cure the acne. :)

Differin Acne treatment does it work?

My friend was telling me that she uses this medication with sunscreen and that it helped clear her face. Does this method/medicine work and how do you get it.Differin Acne treatment does it work?
Differin is a prescription drug, you have to see a Doctor / Dermatologist to get it. I've used it and it does work though; it takes about 3-4 weeks of daily use before you'll see almost any improvement, but once those 3-4 weeks are over it really does work, and it works well.

Plus, unlike Proactiv or other creams, if you stop using Differin, your acne doesn't come back very easily.Differin Acne treatment does it work?
my boyfriend uses it and it works for him.. not so much for me though.. i think it just depends o the person and they're skin.

Is it okay to use Proactiv solution acne treatment on my face and body while pregnant?

Everything gets pulled in through your skin, so double check with your doctor to make sure every ingredient is safe.Is it okay to use Proactiv solution acne treatment on my face and body while pregnant?
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symptoms and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

i use it and my dr said that as long as i am not taking any pills it is ok
    Negative!
I would check the label or check the web site to make sure!
Yes. it's on Benzoyl peroxide not accutane.

if you are quite concerned, then switch to natural treatments like clearproes or acnezine.
    UM..YEAH,,,,,THEY HAVE NO CONNECTION!!!
i don't think so but check everything with your docotr while pregnant alot of things can be riskay
I'm not sure this is something to ask your Doctor

Which is better for acne treatment: Salicylic acid or Benzoyl Peroxide?

You definitely need both. You have to keep your skin in a state of peeling away the dead debris. A non-oily moisturizer is needed as well.Which is better for acne treatment: Salicylic acid or Benzoyl Peroxide?
I use the benzoyl peroxide soap with a skin buff puff. Then I use the salicylic acid toner with a cottonball. Remember if your skin start to dry, use some non clogging face lotion such as clinique moisturizing lotion..I also use proactiv refining mask and only put it on the pimple that is giving me a problem.. the next day that stubbon pimple is gone..I also take vitamin A to help my skin..This is what I learned that works for me..It took me years to find this combination..I hope this will work for you too.Which is better for acne treatment: Salicylic acid or Benzoyl Peroxide?
They do different things, so usually you would use a combination of proiducts with those ingredients. That's part of the reason proactive tends to work well for people.
Benzoyl peroxide is definitely better because it works by actually killing the bacteria and reducing inflammation in the follicle and is a good choice for people with mild acne. Salicylic acid just pretty much works by reducing the formation of blackheads and whiteheads. So yea.. I hope that helped answer your question =)
You know, having suffered terrible acne as a teen I found little that ';worked.'; The simplest answer is that everyone reacts differently to medications - in this case we're talking about topicals. Try them both and see which one works best for you.

    http://www.springboardblog.blogspot.com
benzoyl peroxide but if you have sensitive skin use salicylic acid

but from your icon you must be African American so i would suggest benzoyl peroxide because it is more drying and no offense just how it works, but African Americans tend to have more oily skin

but it all depends on your specific skin because overdoing it can dry your skin out bad
i have struggled with acne for years now, ive tried everything from clear and clear to proactive... nothing ever helped. a couple months ago i started using products from mario badescu and they changed my face completely. not only are their products amazing at treating acne but also all natural. some do contain salicylic acid, check out the website, truly amazing and so worth every penny. www.mariobadescu.com
I think proactiv uses both, so I would recommend them....get the 3 pack and see how you like it. If your skin is really bad, I would use it when you wake up, after work or school, and at bedtime...and if you work out or have pe, I would use it after you are done....good luck

  • Is there a affordable acne treatment that actually works?!?

I'm not sure what you've tried, but if you have bad acne and nothing you've tried is working, I recommend getting allergy tests done. I had bad acne for years and nothing helped it, and when I got allergy testing done a couple years ago I found out I'm allergic to lemons. This was a big surprise, considering I used to eat lemon bread, lemon cookies, or lemonade every day! But once I cut it out of my diet, my face cleared up within a few weeks. Now I only get a few spots now and again that I treat with regular over the counter medications.

In the meantime, try Purpose, it's a non-soap facial cleanser that won't leave a soap film on your skin. You can get it at any store. Is there a affordable acne treatment that actually works?!?

What is the best treatment for acne that you have tried (non-prescription)?

I am fixin to head to Wal-Mart (pretty much the only store in east texas LOL) and I need something to get that will treat and prevent acne. I have tried Acne Free... it didn't work too well. I have tried Clearn %26amp; Clear spot treatment... it didn't work at ALL. I have tried most of the Neutrogena and Clean %26amp; Clear face washes but they just aren't effective enough. I have acne breakouts on my forehead, nose, and chin. It's not a lot.. I can cover it up with concealer, but it's just so annoying! So please let me know what has worked for you. Thanks! :)What is the best treatment for acne that you have tried (non-prescription)?
We have found that acne in general responds well to a home remedy taught to me by a friend from Guatemala:

At night before bed, pour about a Tbsp of sugar into the palm of your hand and add just enough lemon juice to make a paste. Massage the paste in a circular motion (not too hard, you don't want to abrade the skin!) over the affected areas to slightly exfoliate. Then, let the paste sit for about 30 seconds, rinse off and pat dry. Do this each night. For my son's very oily and football/baseball-sweat aggravated acne we switch the sugar to salt.

I can honestly tell you that he notices improvement the very first morning when he does this.

Hope this helps! At least it's not expensive to try : )What is the best treatment for acne that you have tried (non-prescription)?

I asked this question awhile back.

I found that if you're no longer a teenager, most of those Clean/clear products(and similar) don't work because its made for teenage skin.

Best I've found, is the clinque bar, and a twice weekly regimen of this stuff called ';Queen Helen';, sold at Sally's beauty. It's a mask, and I swear by it now. It's cheap too. :)

It hasn't corrected all of my pimples, but it has definately helped.

    Good luck hon.
Try using Purpose gentle cleansing. This is from Johnson and Johnson. It is is oil free, hypoallergenic and will not clog your pores. My dermatologist told me to use this and I use it in the morning and when I go to bed.It has helped alot.

Well you won't be able to find this at Wal-Mart but I've started using Clinique's Three Step Skin Care. I got mine from Macy's but any department store that has Clinique Cosmetics will have it. They'll ask you questions to help you figure out your skin type, dry to oily, oily, etc. I started using mine about a week ago and I've noticed a big difference. Like you I have break-outs, nothing major, just enough that my skin isn't smooth. But it's getting there!

i use it and i love it!!!!! but if ur acne is so bad u shouldn't use it but if u have a spot here and there i highly recommend it!! : ^ )Can anybody telll me what they think about Acne-Free acne treatment?
I've been using it for a few weeks, and to be honest I really don't think that it is working. The step 3 lotion is thick and doesn't absorb very well, and the step 2 toner is alcohol based which causes your skin to secrete more oil than normal. The smell is pretty bad too, and other people will notice that you have something on your skin.

    Hope this helps, good luck!
Hey hey! I use Acne Free!

I have really bad acne and tried Murad for a month, but it didn't work very well. I started using Acne Free in december, and it's worked really well, but it dried my face out a bit. If you use it consistently twice a day it should work. I just switched to the severe acne treatment by Acne Free (in the orange bottles) and it works MUCH better then the original one.

Oh, and when I apply the Repair Lotion, I rub it all over my face, and then dab it on to the effected areas.

Good luck! I really hope this helps in some way. I also suffer from acne, and I know how terrible it can be to your self esteem.

It's got most of the same ingredients as ProActiv it's just cheaper. Try it for yourself to see. Make sure you're consistent every day and night, since you have to be for problem skin.

I have acne scarring on my cheeks too from years acne problems.

Retexturing the skin through exfoliation (shedding the dead outer layers to reveal new healthy cells) is one way that I've tried to lessen the scarring.

I've had some mild success using Vitamin A topical creams (Retin A, retinoids such as Differin, retinols), products containing alpha hydroxy acid - all which chemically exfoliate the skin. As I mentioned , the results I've managed to get so far (after 1 year) are slightly average and the process (to see results) is long.

To get significant and quicker results , I do believe that Dermal treatments such as lasers and chemical peels (stronger than over the counter or beauty salon stuff!) are the way to!! I know that I do not have the personal experience YET to back up this claim (As it is rather expensive). However I've done enough research (books, journals, magazines, interviews %26amp; internet) to truly believe this. So much so that I've decided to go back to uni again to retrain as a Dermal Therapist (expert that uses mentioned dermal treatments. So excited!)

Ask your dermatologist which dermal treatment (i.e. fillers for really deep scars; chemical peels; lasers such as YAG, Fraxel, ) is best for you.
After many trials and errors, I found that the only way to treat scars with any results was the laser treatment. Fraxel is the best. I had 4 treatments and it's great. Although a little expensive, they are worth their money! You can also get fillers like Restylane it is fantastic, I did that for touch up. Follow up with Vitamin C serum.
If they are not deep scars alpha hydroxy works really well...comes in a red box sold at many places....Ulta is where I get mine :) Remember though you have to be repetative for it to work..... be patient

The tricky part about acne is that the problem can

actually become worse if you overmedicate. That's

because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing

a boost in your skin's Sebum (oil) production. This

results in...you guessed it - more acne.

So what's the long term solution? Find gentler

solutions or even natural acne cures that won't

shock your body into more breakouts.

    Here's what I recommend...

    Glycerin based facewash:

Glycerin is gentler and will balance the

    pH levels in your skin.

    Antibacterial Soap:

For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap

to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry,

switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to

    counterbalance the effect.

    Don't Overwash:

Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently

    pat dry with a towel.

    Moisterize:

Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based

face wash drys you out too much. I like using

    Aveeno moisterizers personally.

    Change Your Diet:

Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid

excess sugar intake. Food really does make a difference.

This is because the food you put into your body has a

direct effect on your Sebum (oil) production. By eating

the right foods, you'll minimize oily skin, thereby

    preventing breakouts.

    Egg Whites:

If acne medication isn't working or causing new breakouts,

try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed.

This natural remedy works by gently drying out the clogged

pores and clearing up the pimple.

    Oatmeal Masks:

One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an

';oatmeal mask';. The oatmeal with smooth your skin while

simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.

Try this for a few days straight. Wear the oatmeal mask

for 10 minutes, then wash off. You'll have a nice

    glowing complexion right after.

    Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice also dries up pimples and kills any bacteria

in the infection. The citric acid also balances your skin's

pH levels to prevent future breakouts.

    Honey:

Yes, despite your initial beliefs, honey is FANTASTIC for

skin care. Actually, you may notice on many moisterizers

that honey is an ingredient. Much like the lemon solution

above, honey balances the skins pH levels. Test out this

sticky remedy by dabbing pimples with honey and leaving it

on for 5-10 minutes. You can apply full honey masks to your

face but I prefer the oatmeal masks instead.

    They're less messy.

Using ginger and garlic to cure your acne is indeed a good idea since both of these herbs are great for skin conditions. Apart from treating acne, they also rejuvenate the skin and also checks out for any fungal or other infections. Let us quickly look at using ginger and garlic to cure your acne:

    Ginger for curing acne

Ginger is a rhizomatous perennial plant having Latin name as Zingiber officinale. Typically a ginger is the rhizome of the plant, which is widely adopted as a dietary substance that has medicinal values. There are plenty of researches that reveal that ginger is acne healing agent. There are many favoring properties of ginger but for treating acne, it particularly has three main actions namely:

    鈥?Anti-inflammatory

    鈥?Anti-septic, and

    鈥?Immunity booster.

Acne is a condition wherein there is inflammation of the dermal layers caused either duet to infection or due to clogged pores and so the irritation. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that help healing the inflammation and hence curing the acne. On the other hand, ginger also has antiseptic action that kills the microorganisms those are responsible for the acne conditions. In some of the situations wherein the body鈥檚 immunity power is low due to severe illness, suffering from acne is more likely to happen and hence, ginger, being a natural immunity booster keeps acne away.

Ginger can be used both; topically and orally. However, local use of ginger may not be possible since it burns a lot but there are some natural products that contain ginger and hence, they are recommended. Therefore, culinary use of ginger is considered to be good and safe. Ginger supplements are also available in market that can be consumed according to the dosage written on the product.
The problem is 'not every one will require the same treatment'. like some people burn on products others don't. What might work for me doesn't mean that it will work on you. I suggest you follow some form of treatment where there are loads of different ways all working at once and it is much more likely there will be one for you. I found this product great i think you should check it out (follow the link). http://hackingyouracne.blogspot.com/ however it does take three days to work but once you go through those three days then you won't get a spot again. Theres some great advise in it.
No overnight solution. The combination of Tea Tree Oil soap and the Clindamycin cream is the best for Acne and pimple.

For acne scars and blemishes I lighten them up using papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are available online. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too. Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
clean %26amp; clear cleansers work best on my skin giving it less redness on spots and reducing spots %26amp; blackheads.

Acne treatment for someone whose skin bounces from dry to (I know it sounds gross, ugh) oily?

After taking a shower or cleansing my face, it always comes out dry, normally it's fine, somewhere in between. What products do you reccomend for treating acne and blackheads?

Thanks for the answers, I feel really awkward asking this, haha, but I'd rather ask than settle for one or spend a bunch of money on a lot.

-Alika613Acne treatment for someone whose skin bounces from dry to (I know it sounds gross, ugh) oily?
I suffer too....I don't think any over the counter products work well, if at all.

You can get prescription medicine called oxytetracycline from your GP which needs to be taken long term, or a more harsh medicine called roacutane. If you suffer badly it my be worth having the latter. It does work because I know someone who used it.

Daily exfoliation is the other recommendation, a loofah for body and salt scrub for your face...

Soaps like Pears work well because it does not contain ingredients that clog the pores.

Finish off with a toner and possibly some moisturiser if needed.

    Best wishes

I know that my husbands sister is similar and she only purchases products from Origins. You can find their product line at Origins.com or in Macy's. Honestly though, you cannot skimp when it comes to your skin, some times you have to go for the more high end stuff. However, this is not super expensive or nothing. They also have organic's so try it out
ok so i had the same problem for years, a few months ago i found this site. it doesn't cost much and it works. check it out if you want.

Where can i buy a acne treatment (not online) but in stores.?

i needa know like i wanna buy proactive solution but they only sell in online i think i wanna know where i can buy it in stores. because i dont have a credit card.. and i need it badly. thanks..Where can i buy a acne treatment (not online) but in stores.?
I buy Pernox at Walgreens for my daughter, she seems to be really happy with it.

http://www.walgreens.com/store/productli鈥?/a>Where can i buy a acne treatment (not online) but in stores.?
    Walmart
    Walgreens, CVS, and RiteAid..........well anywhere!
In walmart, go to the medicine section.
go to ebay and bid on the item. Make sure they accept personal checks/cashiers checks or money orders first. Then win the bid and mail payment. Your Proactive solution will arrive shortly after.
sometimes they have a stand in the santa anita mall.......
I have seen it cheapest at CVS.

Has anyone used a remedy of honey and cinnamon as an acne treatment?

if so, how long until results begin to show??Has anyone used a remedy of honey and cinnamon as an acne treatment?
The best thing I found for Acne is kind of like Proactiv and they sell it at Walgreens and Target. It is called Acne Free. I have been using it about 4 days and my skin has improved majorly. I have tried EVERYTHING ELSE.Has anyone used a remedy of honey and cinnamon as an acne treatment?
I tried but the raccoons kept licking it off.
no, but thats weird to do for acne. But i have never had acne though
I have not tried the honey %26amp; cinnamon cure, but do use either calamine lotion (overnight) and also during the day, it blends in well. You can also try plain white paste toothpaste, not the gel kind and it too works well, in particular overnight. I know that with both the calamine and the toothpaste, it will make breakouts look much smaller in the morning, so if you have an emergency, it does work well. I have heard that honey and cinnamon work, but have no idea on the time frame.

    Good luck!
How do you mix the honey and cinnamon together? Please add the details, I want to try it out!!
i have never heard of or tried that but i have tried vitamin c powder egg whites and banana with lemon juice (you can add flour to make it thick but the flour dont do anything , it you leave it out thou it will be very sticky) any way i sleep w/ mine on and in the morning my face is clear and glowing!!!!! after one usage
With any remedies, they usually take about a week, but if could suggest, I'd say that you should add milk to that mixture because it works better.
I never heard of it, but try clean and clear, it is very cheap at the drug store and it really works!
Claire, it sounds nice but if you have a drug plan why not see a dermatologist? Even if you don't have a drug plan the money you'll save from not buying over the counter stuff will pay back in a few months.

Dermatologists can put you on a regimen that will clear up your acne in no time and keep it away. Usually they'll give you a toner which is an AHA plus clindamycin (an antibacterial agent) and erythromycin gel which you alternate. Even your family doctor won't know this combo, but it works...see a dermatologist for real improvement.

heck no it also depends on your skin type 1 that works for all is taking vitamin c and e.if you have oily skin use lemon juice 1 time a week for 15 minutes then wash it off, if you have sensitive skin get tea tree oil and aloe gel and mix ten drops of the oil into a bottle of aloe gel they have a zinc cream too but i have not tried it yet.murad is a good brand of acne treatmentIs proactive really the best over the counter acne treatment?
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

Well good luck and best wishes.
    Hi

There are many acne skin care products like proactive available in the market right now.

Some of them are meant for only adults and some for the teenagers. It is mandatory to choose the right product you are in need of.

The products available in the market might be great solution for some people and some might not even suit them nor produce any positive outcome. You could really find some marvelous creams, lotions, moisturizers and facial scrubs that could help you in many ways by keeping you beautiful and young too.

But sometimes you might get confused to select and use the correct product for your skin.

Well as a fact, you should always remember to wipe off your pimples and acne related problems forever but have you ever thought that these make up items would surely produce good results?

If you really wants to be good looking and beautiful, then you should always choose an acne skin product. It not just keeps your skin free from the pimples and scrubs but it also generates your skin to look good, beautiful and as young as you really want to be. You can easily get the acne skin product from the nearby chemist or from online.

However, before trying out with some acne skin product, you should try utilize the daily use home products. It is very important to wash your face twice a day. Wash it very firmly and gently. It should not squeeze your pimples and also cause any rashes on your skin.

Do not use hot water, because hot water generally causes rashes and some times irritates the skin and for some people it also causes burning. You should use antibacterial or even tea tree oil for your skin in order to keep them from infection and also from burning.

I will also recommend to keep your hairs neat and clean and well washed by shampoos. Some times dirt and other particles may get trapped along your hairs. People with long hair should always be very cautious about washing their hairs regularly.

Also recommended is to keep away your hair from your face in order to reduce the formation of pimples.

You should also keep on a healthy diet, healthydiet can help you a lot when trying to get rid of you acne.

I did all these things and also used acne skin care system that called clearpores. This system helped me to get rid of my acne after I tried other products that didn't help me at all and in my opinion it's one of the best and most affordable systems if you want to get rid of your acne and have beautiful skin again. They also give their customers 6 months full money back guarantee for all their products.

You can find more information on their different products and specific skin type systems here:

clean and clear blackhead eraser and clean and clear blackhead gentle scrub. What acne treatment works for black heads but is cheap?
definitely, with no doubt , Aloe vera soap+Aloe vera juice

It makes the skin glowing and smooth.

It is beneficial to remove dead skin cells

Aloe vera is beneficial to prevent the aging of the skin

it's sort of more like a miracle!

personally i am so grateful for this product.

One of the main reasons aloe vera has become so popular among consumers is that it possesses incredible moisturizing properties. Studies show that aloe vera improves the skin's ability to hydrate itself, aids in the removal of dead skin cells and has an effective penetrating ability that helps transport healthy substances through the skin.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
Arbonne's acne line, Clear Advantage, works great! It gives fabulous results!!

Arbonne Clear Advantage Acne Wash- Soothing, oil-free, deep pore cleanser unclogs pores and cleanses away dirt. Medicated with acne-fighting, prescription quality salicylic acid. Arbonne Clear Advantage Refining Toner- Alcohol-free, oil free toner helps balance and calm skin while removing excess oils. Enhanced with alpha hydroxy acids to gently and effectively remove dead skin cells. Skin is left clean, soothes, hydrated and refreshed.

Arbonne Clear Advantage Acne Lotion- Mild, oil free lotion with acne fighting salicylic acid penetrates pores to destroy blemishes causing bacteria, improving problem skin. Soothing and calming botanical agents help to heal and hydrate skin.

Arbonne Clear Advantage Skin Support- A uniquely developed dietary supplement to support the skin from the inside out. A combination of acne-fighting nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids, plus botanicals used for centuries to improve skin conditons.
the best is probably the steaming process

    1. steam ur face open up all ur pores

    2. wash with a cleanser and steam agian

    3. Take a towel and squese uor pores and white black and other acne

    4. CLeanse ur face again

5, pat dry and apply a moistureizer.

    if u u do this u don't get scars/

Keep hands off the face during day and night, wash hands before washing face. Have your own washrag to wash your face. Wash it out before and after.

Tepescohuite soap on EBay. I do not sell it, I bought it and my acne went downhill! About $9.00 plus s/h.

2nd soap Cuticura original formula contains triclosan 1.5% a alternative to benzoyl peroxide and the salicylic acid products. Found it at Walgreens $2.19.

Change your pillowcase more often it carries dirt and scum oils, product build up from your hair.

    Good Luck.

    Acne Sucks!
you might get a lot of different brands for this general and common a question. from my experience, (I've used maybe 4 or 5 brands when I had acne, including proactiv) cetaphil is the best facial wash for my skin, and I still use it every time I shower. neutrogena worked well for about a year and then stopped working completely, and proactiv irritated my skin and caused more breakouts from the get go. I highly recommend you try cetaphil first, then neutrogena second if cetaphil doesn't work.
Non prescription I would say Proactiv. If you use it regularly as recommended I think it does a great job. If over the counter stuff is not working, see a dermatologist.
I would recommend tea-tree-oil, which I successfully use myself
    hi

    I had acne problems,

Do you have a Boots (chemist) near you?, as thats the only place they sell the product as far as i am aware.

Get some, Pan Oxyl 2.5 gel, (its a cream)

Then on a night before bed, get a good wash, Moisturise , then apply cream (moisturise as cream can cause dry patches on skin)

Give it a couple of weeks, it works a treat!

If you dont have a boots near you, try searching for pan oxyl acne cream on ebay or amazon..

    Its really good.

Good luck, %26amp;%26amp; sorry if i have answered wrong, i didnt really get the question, but heres advice for anyone who needs it!

My skin has never been better since acne entered my life. I now share Therasol with my brother since I hardly need it anymore - just as and when I get paranoid about an impending zit!

What is Proactive I know its an acne treatment but is Proactive the name you ask for in the pharmacy?

You can't buy Proactive in a pharmacy, it isn't a prescription acne treatment, you can order it from the Proactive website or call them or in some malls, however I recommend buying it on Ebay, it's the same thing and it is much cheaper. However, I have used Proactive for over a year and honestly, it doesn't work much better then a good over the counter wash at Wal-mart....the only thing that I see work well is 1. Consistantly washing your skin twice a day, in the morning, and at night 2. Useing a product like ZapZit, if you have a particular acne bump(s) to get rid of quickly. 3. Exercising regularly helps. 4. Unfortunately, I have found that tanning helps, but it isn't healthy, but the UV light does kill the bacteria in the pores 5. Your doctor can prescribe medication for acne, but many do not like to, because the meds are harsh and expensive. 6. It's genetic, and not ';curable';. Sadly, many people have it their entire lives, I've had acne since I was 8 years old and I'm 21 now. It's frustrating and embarassing I know. What is Proactive I know its an acne treatment but is Proactive the name you ask for in the pharmacy?
No, you have to get that specific brand through the mail, online, or in specialty kiosks or stores at some malls. But, there are ';generic'; types of treatments with the same ingredient (benzoyl peroxide) that are available at any drugstore or walmart. One of them is called Acne Free I think. What is Proactive I know its an acne treatment but is Proactive the name you ask for in the pharmacy?
You can't buy proactive at the pharmacy. You have to order it online or by phone and get it through the mail, or some malls have proactive stands that you can purchase the kit at. Also remember to KEEP YOUR RECIEPT. If this product does not work for you, you can get your money back if you have your reciept and the empty containers and box. This product does not work as well as it says, so remember to keep the following.
You can't get it at the pharmacy, only off tv, online, or some stands in the mall have it.
Yes Proactive is an Acne treatment and you can only get it in the states by ordering it by phone or online. The reason it doesnt sell in Canada is because it has to much Bezol peroxide in it for the canadian standards. and no you can't get it in a pharmacy. Hope i helped

What will antibiotics used for the treatment of acne do to me?

I have just started taking minocycline. What will it do to me? Will I not be able to fight off other infections that I might get? What will antibiotics used for the treatment of acne do to me?
The answer is Yes - you will be at risk of antibiotic resistance and also there are some other side effects .Whenever possible, topical therapies are preferred to pills, as they are less likely to result in side effects or antibiotic resistance.

What will antibiotics used for the treatment of acne do to me?
    FORGET antibiotics...

What the skin needs is a treatment that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

    http://www.17acnetreatments.com

    Hope this helps :)
A ten-year acne sufferer myself, I will show you how I cured my acne condition in 3 days the natural way, saved myself from further scarring, and stopped wasting my money on expensive medications and over-the-counter products!

    For, More Information, http://www.health96.com/acne/acnefree.ht鈥?/a>
Acne forms when sebum (skin oil) and bacteria become trapped in follicles in the skin. Blemishes appear when these oils prevent the skin from naturally shedding which may be in the form of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or cysts. Severe cases of acne will often leave indentations or scars on the skin.

  • Which acne treatment is better: Proactiv, Clear-pores, or Neutrogena Skin id?

I would greatly appreciate any and all help that i could get from those who have used either Proactiv, Clear-pores, or Neutrogena Skin id. I was interested in trying one of these products however was uncertain of which one was the best at clearing skin without irritating slightly sensitive skin.

Thank you!Which acne treatment is better: Proactiv, Clear-pores, or Neutrogena Skin id?
From my research back in my acne days, for sensitive skin, I'd sky away from Proactiv. Little bit too strong. Haven't had much experience with Skin ID.

But I've heard great things about ClearPores. I found a site that is perfect for you. It lists feedback from other ClearPores users. Check it out, and see what ya think.

Hopefully that helps.Which acne treatment is better: Proactiv, Clear-pores, or Neutrogena Skin id?
Human skin consists of many tiny pores. These pores are connected to oil glands. Once these oil glands are blocked by the sedum or dirt substance, pimples will break out. Doctors always use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to kill bacteria in skin pores, and other pills are used to restrict hormone and oil secretion. Those all have some harmful effects on your body. In order to get ride of pimples, you must keep your face clean all times. You can try Chlorella Gel Cleanser. It is made of edible algae and contains vitamins, Carotene, chlorophyll, amine acids, proteins, SOD enzyme, alga polysaccharides . Chlorella Gel Cleanser can clean corneous cells, sebum, sweat, dust, and get ride of pimples quickly.

Don't give up, acne is something that can be cure, good luck...
I would definitely recommend using Proactiv's 3-step program. I've been using Proactiv for about a year and a half now and it has worked wonders. The only thing about Proactiv though is that you have to be dedicated to using it twice a day. Once in the morning and once before you go to bed. Although for the first month or two you might want to only use it once a day, probably before you go to bed would be your best bet so your face can get used to it and it won't dry out. Hope this helped! Good Luck!
i used to have a huge acne problem when i was in college. it got really bad during times of stress, like around exam times. i found that the major reason for my breakouts was stress and poor nutrition.

the best thing you can do to prevent acne, is to drink lots and lots of water. tap water is the best. it detoxifies your system. fruits also help a lot; especially citrus fruits.

don't go for soaps or cleansing agents that claim to get rid of your acne. they just dry up your skin. excess oils may cause acne but your skin still needs the oils. don't over wash either for the same reason.

i tried a lot of products from the internet because i was desperate for an acne-free face, since i was in college. the girls just didn't dig it. nothing worked as well and as fast as Acnezine.

i saw the effects in a week. i was so relieved that i found this product. it just turned my social life around. it not only cured the acne i had but also removed blemishes. i still use it during stressful times to prevent future breakouts. i highly recommend it
Hiya - i tried them all a few years back.. I didn't have bad acne but it was present on my shoulders a little and these washes were of no use. Went to the doctor and he prescribed tetrecycline, and erythimycine for the summer months as tetrecycline can cause you to burn.. Cleared up after a few weeks..

do a little bit of research - but for the money you'll spend on creams and washes... it's worth the investment (also i dont remember being sick while on them lol!)
Neurtogena! Proactive may not always work according to your skin and what you can handle, my sister tried it and her skin got red and ashy,

I tried a Neutrogena and so did she, it clears your skin up leaves it smooth and radiant.

    amazing.

You should really try, Hope it helps!

    =)
I have proactiv and to be honest i don't think it works that well. I use clearasil, it works the best for white heads or small pimples. i had the whole neutrogena 3 step system thing and i don't think it worked that well. Using these products really depend on your skin type i think.....
Well i used practive for me and it cleared my sin a little but but i think somehow it devolped resistence to it and stoped working for me like the 3rd week
Don't use Clear-Pores! I think Neutrogena Skin ID and Proactiv may be much better.

    Skin ID may work best!
I like Proactiv, but be careful with the toner, only use it once or twice a week after the first week so you don't over irritate and dry out your skin.
The stuff that Neutrogena makes always works for me!
dont use proactiv for sure!! it will dry your skin out and make you break out more when you stop using it for one day.
    i would say neutrogena

    proactive...trust me.
